Little Free Libraries

Several years ago, NMFRC became aware of the nonprofit organization Little Free Library, whose mission is to inspire a love of reading, build community, and spark creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world. Given the remote and isolated places that many people in northern Moore County live, NMFRC placed seven little free libraries around its service area. The libraries contain books for all ages, and new books are added monthly.

Santa’s Workshop

Since 2012, NMFRC, along with numerous faith-based and civic organizations, has provided a helping hand at Christmas for families in northern Moore County. Parents visit NMFRC to select a toy, book, coat, pants and shoes for each of their children. In December of 2016 over 600 children received gifts through Santa’s workshop.
